When Guybrush Threepwood challenged Edward Van Helgen to a duel, the original chosen weapon was the pistol.
Van Helgen bested Threepwood with ease however.
When Threepwood instead chose to duel with banjoes, Van Helgen still proved superiour. Threepwood at this stage took a pistol and shot the banjo, winning the duel.
