Guybrush with the Cutlass
The Cursed Cutlass of Kaflu was a voodoo sword that was created by Guybrush Threepwood during the events of Monkey Island 5 (Fictional) ready at the beginning of the Tales of Monkey Island in order to defeat the demon pirate LeChuck once and for all.
Threepwood called it his "glowing sword of hot monkey vengeance".
However, Guybrush deviated from the recipe for one of the ingredients, so when he attempted to use the weapon on LeChuck, it instead transfered his voodoo essence into one of Guybrush's hands. It also somehow reverted LeChuck into a living person again.
Guybrush's infected hand became the source of the Pox of LeChuck.
The ingredient that Guybrush neglected to use was Root Beer, instead replacing it with a mixture of plant roots and grog.

Guybrush Threepwood carried the recipe for the creation of the Cursed Cutlass with him as a checklist of the things he needed.
They are as follows:
- 37 oz. of stolen blood stained silver
- Ultimate Insult
- Midas Diamond
- Voodoo Doll
- Root Beer (Enchanted root beer bottle- rootbeer must be fizzy)
Apart from the stolen silver, a notable point about the ingredients is that they all served as major plot devices in the previous games and in most cases were weapons against LeChuck.
