Bernard was the chef working in The Bloody Lip Bar and Grill on Scabb Island.

In order to get the advertised job, Guybrush Threepwood had to get rid of Bernard. He put Muenster Monster in the vichyssoise that he was preparing, which led the Barkeeper to fire him and hire Guybrush as his replacement.

He is not to be confused with Bernard Bernoulli, a major character in two other LucasArts games, Maniac Mansion and Day of the Tentacle.
