Bananas were a fruit commonly found in the Tri-Island Area. They were the favoured food of monkeys.
Monkey Island had an abundant supply of trees that supplied bananas. After Herman Toothrot was stranded there he trained some native monkeys on the island to use his ship to go for help. He did not join them as he did not like the idea of being on a ship full of monkeys. They went to the harbour of Mêlée Island and sold the ship to Stan S. Stanman for a large amount of bananas.
On Flotsam Island, the Marquis De Singe rehabilitated and trained a monkey with the use of bananas and electric shocks.

Two of the three bananas needed were retrieved by firing a rock at a banana tree on the beach from the clifftop. A further one was found just outside the hut of the Cannibals.
Usage[]
On Monkey Island, Guybrush Threepwood used bananas to coax a monkey into helping him open the Giant Monkey Head.

Guybrush found a banana in the possessions of a dead prisoner, Mr. Willy Gorilla, in the Phatt Island Jail. They were kept in a Gorilla Envelope on the shelf. The banana reminded Guybrush of an untold story about a farm girl.
Usage[]
He placed the banana on a metronome in The Bloody Lip Bar and Grill to hypnotise Jojo.
